Morning Bloggers,
Well I did not think it would be so easy to get up at 4:50am but I guess I am doing it.
Working second shift since 1973 and going to bed at 4 or 5am was my NORMAL schedule...but...going to bed at 9pm helps...LOL
I still am struggling to do the fun things I like to do...or what I consider fun like sewing or baking. I try on the weekends to sew but that time always gets used up by other...I will say adventures.
Have a good day bloggers until later this evening.
Peace Out!
In this Blog I will be posting items such as sewing projects, foods and bakery from my kitchen. The in's and out's of projects and answer questions you may have.

No Peace and Love...
Hello Bloggers,
I do not understand why people are so hateful...just down right mean. 2nd shift was closed down in our building and we are on 1st shift now...PURE TORTURE...it wasn't our choice. It has been 1 week and 1 day...and one person is trying to put thunder in my peaceful cloud. I just talk calmly and try to hold the peace...AARGG!
I grew up in the best time. I could get any kind of drug I wanted in the 60's and 70's...IF I WANTED. I am one of those people that were called (a square).
There are many people that don't believe me when I say I did not try any of that stuff. BOY AM I REGRETTING THAT TODAY...I SHOULD HAVE TRIED SOMETHING. I think I would have tried LSD.
If I could live my life over I would have gone to Woodstock...but how many of you say the same thing. Just to experience life. The serenity, calmness, PEACE! Everyone getting along...no fighting.
OH well...guess I am an old hippy at heart.
Peace Out Bloggers!

Red Velvet Cake
My daughter-in-law asked if I knew how to make a red velvet cake. Well, I never have. So I went this weekend to purchase the ingredients. Not a box cake mix, one from scratch.
During the week I will attempt this cake. I will post the ingredients and pictures on how it came out.
Wonder Clips
There are some new clips which I am in love with.
They are called Wonder Clips. I bought mine on line at Nancy's Notions. Her website is under My Favorite Websites.
I am working with a fabric in which I do not want any holes punched in caused by pins. These clips are the best invention...wish I would have thought of it.
But if you would like a little advice...you can also use black binding clips sold at your local Office Max, Staples or Walmart etc. They come in various sizes depending on your project. I just have a little difficulty opening them. They require a more strength than I have.
Happy Blogging!

Place Mat
Here is a little project I worked on last night after work. A place mat that measures 12x15". I used the GoBaby hand crank cutter with the half square-3" finished triangle die. My goodness...does this make a cutting job go faster.
I know there are quilters out there who can do these cuts without a second thought, but this way is easier for me. I am experimenting a lot with these dies so I can join them to make a bigger project.
Another helpful technique I learn from a Missouri quilt you-tube video was machine sewing on the boarder. I have always sewn my boarder to the front of a project and turn to the back and hand tack it down. With the video I watched it teaches you to sew from the back of the quilt and zig zag on the front. So this project has many mistakes in it. You learn by your mistakes is a very true statement. Go to you-tube and type in How To Bind a Quilt With a Sewing Machine and you can learn this technique also.
Until next time have a Great day!

YouTube Rocks!
Hello Bloggers,
Wanted to share another website with you. I love to go to YouTube for instructional videos. I have learned so much on quilting to help me with sewing projects. Not only to help me but to teach me new techniques.
There is a site I absolutely love...The Missouri Quilting site. Just view my Favorite Websites and click on youtube Missouri Quilting. You will enjoy this site.
Have a great day. Peace Out!

Finished pillow case
Hello bloggers,
I have a finished project. Here is the pillowcase I made for my Mom with the two fabrics she wanted me to use.
The product I used to help me was the accuquilt Go! baby. This is such a good manual cutting machine to have. I have the website listed in my Favorite Websites if you would like to see more details. I bought this cutter at JoAnn Fabrics. They normally have a coupon in the Sunday paper for 50% off. That is what I used to purchase this product. Just keep looking for specials to purchase the die cutters either on their website or in your local news paper.
The next item I will be making is for my niece. She is a very go green woman. Instead of plastic bags that you have to toss from use, I will be making her reusable sandwich wraps that can be washed and dried and keeps your sandwich just as fresh as wrapped in plastic.
Have a good day everyone!

Back to the drawing board
Hello my blogger friends, (when I get some) LOL
Looks like I am back to the drawing board. I cannot find my favorite Kumiko Sudo fabric folding book so it looks like I have to come up with a different plan.
Mom likes cats and dogs so I will be putting cats and dogs on her pillow case. If all goes well it will be posted in two days or less.
Have a great night everyone.
